Teacher Tomcat
Teacher Tomcat is a part of an ongoing collection of figurines designed using nomad Sculpt, a 3d design software that allows the designer to sculpt figures as if they were really made from clay!
What is Nomad?
Nomad is a 3D sculpture software allowing artists to sculpt freely on any IOS device.
Using simple tools, an artist can create just about any form in Nomad Sculpt.
Nomad also allows you to “paint” after modeling, similar to the art app Procreate.
Inspirations
I have a lot of nostalgia surrounding the old PVC Littlest Pet Shop toys because of how cute and different each one was. I also love the modern Smiski and how simple yet custom they all feel.
Smiski figures are meant to “mimic daily life” and I wanted mine to do the same, while retaining that individuality of older toys.

I knew I wanted to design figurines that represented the user.
The same way Littlest Pet shops and Smiski (plastic toys with personality) are unique and have their own little behaviors.
The hard part was finding a fun design that would make this a desirable collectible!
Nomad Sculpt is a very new program, so I wanted to start simple and with a fond, familiar figure.
Cats are so well-loved in figurines, and teachers don’t get enough love. So my first design was for a Teacher Tomcat, with its very own vest and booklet.
