Black Widow
In 2024, I designed a perfume called Black Widow inspired by Zoologist perfumes. The bottle is crystal with a spider embossed onto the body. The cap is a delicate butterfly in the spider’s path.
Black Widow has notes of Opium Poppy, Saffron, Oakmoss and Vetiver.
IMMERSION IN NATURE
Zoologist Perfume is a company dedicated to replicating an animals habitats, behaviors and looks; their similarities and differences with humans, and even their smells.
In this project I aimed to make Zoologist a bottle that reflects the complexity and the drama of their scents. This bottle must be bold, functional and represent the animal wholly.

The cap is fat and wide, easy to grab. Like the spider reaching for it’s trapped prey, we reach to remove the butterfly from it’s jaws. Are we rescuing it, or introducing it to a new captor? A black widow’s life is one of competition.
